When and Tales of Innocence R launched on PlayStation Vita in Japan, western JRPG fans immediately started asking Bandai Namco when they could expect to get in on the action. But with Vita's soft sales not only in Japan, but in the west, it seemed increasingly unlikely that we would get our hands on a localized version of the game. But then, the unlikely happened. Vita never became a sales powerhouse, and along with it a dedicated audience that bought tons of games, especially those hailing from Japan. And Tales of Xillia launched in the west, not only spawning, but the western announcement and release and the all-new upcoming Tales game,.
“Now, Tales of Hearts was actually a Nintendo DS exclusive at first, and launched in 2008. Tales of Hearts R is a remake (hence the 'R'), and launched in Japan in early 2013. I went hands-on with an early, localized version of the game, and I was pleased to find something that looked and felt like a true Tales game, with familiar combat, characters, items, skills, and more that made me feel right at home as a Tales fan. Tales of Hearts R revolves around a young man named Kor and his friends.

Tales of Graces f is the 12th flagship title in the Tales series. Candy crush soda saga online free games king. Based off of the original version, Tales of Graces for the Wii, Tales of Graces f expands upon the original by adding a 10 hour post-story arc, new artes, new skits, upgraded visuals, and much more.
The four members of my party as I experimented with the game were Kor, a young girl named Kohaku, Kohaku's brother Hisui, and a mysterious man named Gall. Navigating the game's menus showed me a bunch of familiar sights: a list of skills called Artes that can be attached to each character, the ability to use food and other ingredients you find to cook meals, and more. It was interesting to play an early version of the localization, however, which - in Japanese game fashion - inverses the typical commands of the X and Circle buttons.Kor is getting ready to use his Artes.Vita's hardware is limited, so Tales of Hearts R doesn't look nearly as good as, say, Tales of Xillia or its sequel. With that said, it has a colorful vibe to it. I was able to explore two environments: a sandy location known as Schehera Desert and wide-open fields outside the small town of Prinseur. Interestingly, enemies can be encountered both randomly - in traditional JRPG fashion - as well as by running into enemies on the field itself, which is a bit more Tales-ish. Fights roll-out in much the same way they do in virtually any Tales game, with an emphasis on action.
Things aren't turn-based, though you can pull up menus as needed to unleash special skills and use items. “The foes I encountered in both locations were fairly uninspired, but I suspect this is nothing more than a very, very small sampling of what's available to fight in these locations, nonetheless in the game as a whole. Salamanders, Cockatrices, Emerald Beetles, and Tiny Worms were some of the monsters I slayed. Doing so quickly and with skill netted me Gald - the Tales' series currency - as well as Grade, which is based on how effectively and quickly I vanquished my foes. This will all be very familiar to Tales fans, as will Tales of Hearts R's leveling system.
Basic exploration in both locations allowed me to find some treasure chests full of curative items, like Apple and Lemon Gels, as well as some Life Bottles and the like. Kor has a Sorcerer's Ring equipped that allows him to scorch certain obstacles in his way outside of battle, opening up secret areas to explore, if you choose to. One item I found was called a Namcoin, which seemed to be some sort of collectible. Examining it netted me the information that there were 76 Namcoins in total strewn about the world, which will undoubtedly be useful information for all of the completionists out there. I really can't wait to delve more into Tales of Hearts R when it comes to the west this November. It's exactly what many Vita fans want: a meaty JRPG they can play on the go (even if it only has Japanese voice acting with translated text; beggars can't be choosers). We hope to have more on the game soon, including a video preview, leading up to our full review later this year.
